Of the fandoms contained in this list, Metalocalypse is the only one I'm currently truly active in (watching the show, reading/writing fics, discussing the show and characters at length, etc). The others are fandoms I was at some point at least partially active in enough to remember the stated pairings with enough fondness to include them. In the case of Twilight, I am a member of the Anti-Fandom.
OTPS are marked as such. The others range anywhere from pairings I was very fond of to crack pairings who only made (often hilarious) sense in a certain context. Canon/OC and OC/OC pairings are not included, as obviously not everyone is going to recognize certain OCs (not to mention the list would become infinitely longer).
Just in case: This list is meant in no way to imply that the included pairings are the only ones that deserve any consideration or that all other pairings suck or that anyone who ships something else sucks. These are just the pairings that I personally enjoy, and the main purpose of this list was to combat a bout of bordom coupled with touches of OCD. We cool? Cool.
